Escape!

I was once told if I didn't like the government we have, I should leave. Well, I'm taking that advice and leaving the country.

That's right, in the next couple of weeks I will most likely be leaving for the UK (London?). I can already hear the gasps of relief, but before you go throw a party, I must warn you I will most likely only be gone for six months. Plus, I will be able to travel back for a weekend at least every two months.

So you may be questioning why I'm leaving. To keep it simple, it is for work. They pay me to do it. Oh yeah, and I will be singlehandedly reforming their entire health care system. Well, it might take a few more people than just me.

Congrats...I sure as hell hope they'll give you a pay boost. London is damn expensive, the pound to dollar exchange is a killer (especially with the weak dollar).

Now I'm not sure trading Mr. Bush for Mr. Blair is much of an improvement. Trading straight teeth for crooked ones isn't for sure. Trading crappy beer for good ones is. Trading Starbucks for Coffee Republic, now that's a toss-up.

Screw coming back to the USA for your weekends... Amsterdam is a really quick jaunt and why not just spend every chance you can get touring Europe?

Check out: http://www.ryanair.com/. You're reading that correctly, London to Milan for 2 pounds. Also, http://www.easyjet.com/.

Jolly good ol' chap! Jolly good! And whatever you do, stay the fuck out of Brussels.

congratulations mike! london is a very fun city, especially when someone else is footing the bill. i have to agree with andy-- spend your free time travelling around europe. here's your chance to ski the alps!

here's the best rumor page i've found for the nhs: http://www.e-health-insider.com/

Lucky bastard!
I don't know if you'll be in our office in London but I hear it's killer. The per diem for the UK is pretty damn good as I recall. But don't get too hyped-up, I was supposed to go to Barcelona for the next phase of my project. Cancelled !!

But how many other companies could you even really dream of working in Europe after being there for less than a year?!?

Enjoy!! And don't come home travel Europe

Yes!!!! Finally! I mean, um... yeah Mike, sure am gonna miss you around here.

Damn, Andy and Steve already suggested what I was going to suggest: Ryan Air and Easy Jet. And Andy even recommended the Coffee Republic. I'm not sure I have any advice left to give. Definitely travel every weekend you get the chance. (Also, meet me in Warsaw the weekend of February 20. :))

Congratulations!
