Mac OS on Intel

| | Comments (3)

After my miserable time driving back to Minneapolis from Iowa, I decided to "nerd it up" as a way of relaxing. Normally this means writing some half-baked program idea, but this past weekend I decided to play with operating systems. In particular install Mac OS X on my Intel based laptop. The short story is I got it to work for a short period of time, but broke this install shortly after.

OS X x86

Given that my laptop hardware did not support the x86 version of OS X well, I didn't feel like taking the time to reinstall. Instead, I plan on installing Fedora and possibly Windows Vista... and that's my rant of nerdom.

You are a wild, crazy man.

I know. Shortly after I taped up my glasses and practiced reciting PI to the 50th decimal place.

Unless you've got some killer processor in there, Vista won't be very fun on your laptop. You'll get the downleveled experience, but it's a much better experience on a dual core intel box.
